Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What kind of blankets do we donate?

A: You can donate any type of blankets – large / small, thick / thin, colorful / plain. All varieties will be useful for the variety of needs in Sendai

Q: There is no collection site listed for my state.

A: Please be patient as we will have sites listed by 22 March 2011. However, we cannot guarantee that we will collect from Sabah & Sarawak as we still need to arrange for flights.

Q: What happens if I can only donate after the timeframe given of 21-26 March?

A: We appreciate if you can keep within the timeframe as we are not able to guarantee that collection points will remain open or if transport can be arranged

Q: Can we donate other things?

A: We are currently encouraging people to focus on blankets. However, some clothings especially for children can be donated too (only new). These need to be in plastic wrapping as well.

Q: Can we donate cash?

A: We are not collecting cash at the moment, but feel free to contact Rotary Clubs to see if they would like to accept. Else, there are also nationwide donation efforts collecting cash such as that of NTV7, or one can donate directly to the Japan Red Cross.
